For many the thought of extending their home and spending thousands of pounds is very daunting when you have never done anything like it before. We have created a brief description of the process from the very first initial meeting to the Building Regulations stage.
We offer a free consultation to discuss ideas, budget and answer any questions you have. This can be done in the comfort of your own home or at our office.
We will make arrangements to come down to your property and carry out a full measured survey of the internal layout, elevations, site layout and any other important areas within the project.
Depending on the complexity of your proposed plans we may book you in for a design meeting. We will give you different design options along with cost and potential pitfalls. When we can understand exactly what it is you want we will go away to produce proposed plans.
PLANNING APPLICATION STAGE
Once we have confirmation of design we will prepare your Planning drawings and submit them to your local council authority. The department should determine your application within 8 weeks. Large or more complex applications may take longer. This will all be discussed in the initial meeting.
We will deal with any minor amendments or queries from the planning officer and keep you up dated along the way.
BUILDING REGULATIONS STAGE
Upon receiving your Planning Approval, we will start working on the Building Regulation drawings adding construction details. Once we have received client approval we will submit the drawings to either the local authority building control or a private inspector (Decision is yours.) We will deal with any amendments and queries from the Building control officer and keep you updated. Once you have received your approval the building work can commence.
Even after you have received your planning and/or building regulations approval we will stay in touch and be on hand if the buildings or yourself need any more information.
